PEAK SEASON

The sea at
its richest

Mid-November is when Raja Ampat settles: the most stable water temperatures of the year and improving visibility. Mantas queue at the cleaning stations, and wobbegongs and pygmy seahorses wait on the reefs.

Raja Ampat, "the four kings", holds three quarters of the world's coral species and more than a thousand species of fish. Above the surface, the emerald karst lagoons of Piaynemo and Wayag are a landscape you will not see anywhere else.

Water 27–31°C · visibility 15–30 m · 3 mm wetsuit · port of Sorong
