WHY THE PRICE

The honest reason

VELOCEAN has never run a discount. Since her launch in 2022 the published rate has been the same everywhere in the world, and every season has sold out.

These two November weeks are chartered by VELOCEAN's Korean distributor, SCUBAble. That is why the vessel's own website lists them as FULL. Our charter has open suites, and rather than sail with empty cabins we are selling them at 30% off to any certified diver.

You book with us. You sail on VELOCEAN. The yacht, the crew, the dive guides and the itinerary are exactly what a guest paying the published rate gets.

Not included, per person: marine park fee and transfers $320, and fuel surcharge $150. Both are set by the park and the vessel and can change; we confirm the amount and how to pay it with your booking.

Same rates for both departures. Solo divers: a Signature Single is yours alone; an Elite Twin is shared with a diver of the same sex.

What the rate covers

Included

  • 6 nights in an ocean-view suite with private bathroom
  • 3 to 4 dives a day including night dives; tanks, weights and dive guides
  • Nitrox for the whole trip (normally $200)
  • All meals and snacks; fresh juices, coffee and soft drinks, unlimited
  • Land excursions: the Piaynemo viewpoint, and Wayag when the schedule allows
  • Airport or hotel transfers to the vessel in Sorong
  • Starlink Wi-Fi for messaging and email; free corkage on drinks you bring

  • Flights, and anything outside the vessel, including hotel nights in transit
  • Marine park fee and transfers, $320 per person

Who you'll sail with

Each week carries a Korean group led by Inho Cho, founder of SCUBAble and a PADI Course Director, alongside international guests. VELOCEAN's crew of 24 is international, and dive briefings and guiding are in English.

SCUBAble has been VELOCEAN's Korean distributor since the first bookings opened in 2019. We run our own dive resorts in Manado and Cebu, and we have sailed every VELOCEAN season since 2022.

GETTING THERE

Flying to Sorong

Sorong (SOQ) is reached through Jakarta (CGK) or Makassar (UPG). Please check your flight times with us before you ticket.

The usual route

  • Fly into Jakarta on Saturday. Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Manila all have direct flights.
  • Take the overnight Garuda or Batik Air flight to Sorong, landing early Sunday morning.
  • VELOCEAN staff meet you at Sorong airport with a sign and drive you to the vessel.

Going home

  • Disembarkation is Saturday morning.
  • Book flights out of Sorong from late morning onward, and confirm the time with us first.
  • Same-day connections through Jakarta to international flights are normal.

Baggage

  • Garuda Indonesia: 23 kg of dive equipment free, on top of the normal allowance.
  • Batik Air: 15 kg of extra checked baggage free.
  • Travel insurance that covers delays is strongly recommended.
DIVING

What to expect in the water

Experience

  • Advanced Open Water or equivalent, with 50 or more logged dives, is recommended.
  • Fewer dives? Tell us. Some weeks and cabins can still work.
  • Recreational, no-decompression diving only.

Conditions

  • Water 27–31°C. A 3 mm wetsuit is enough for most divers.
  • Visibility 15–30 m.
  • Current at some sites. Bring a reef hook.

Equipment

  • Bring your own gear if you can. Limited rental is available on request.
  • Nitrox is free. Bring your own dive computer.
  • 220 V on board with universal sockets, and camera stations with charging.

We confirm what is open and hold it for you for 48 hours.

Deposit by bank transfer

US dollars, to the account on your confirmation. The booking is confirmed when the deposit arrives.

Balance, then the details

Pay the balance by the date on your confirmation. Then we send flight, transfer and packing guidance.

Payment is by USD bank transfer only. We do not take cards. With departures this close, the deposit and balance dates are short and are stated on your confirmation. Cancellation policy and full terms →
